Reviews
How YOMI works?
Yomi's digitally guided workflow provides an elevated patient care experience. There is no longer a need for a long healing process due to the lack of an opening flap or any other invasive surgical manipulations traditionally associated with implant placement surgeries. We can offer same-day implant placements in select cases, and the surgery can be performed in under ten minutes. Yomi helps to provide the highest level of efficiency, accuracy, predictability, and comfort for both patients and the dental team.

What are the other ways for dentists to place implants?
Free-hand is the most common way to place dental implants. In free-hand surgery, the dentist uses a special handpiece instrument to drill a hole and then place your implant. The accuracy of such a technique can sometimes be very challenging because it entirely depends on the doctor's experience and luck. Even close pre-operative examination of bone, gums, and nearby teeth cannot guarantee accuracy due to poor visibility during the surgery.

3D Printed or milled surgical guides became wildly popular because, like Yomi, they allow for considerably more accurate implant placement and less invasive surgery. A dentist relies on your existing teeth to hold the guide in place and drills the implant hole through the guide. Even the slightest guide fitment issue or a need for a little change can cause a significant delay. That is why many guided surgeries turn into free-hand or need additional appointments. Such surgeries also lack visibility and have a higher risk of human error, making it almost impossible to use them in hard-to-reach areas. Overall, guides are designed to make placing your implants easier, which is why many surgeons may still recommend them.
